June 25, 1902 SCHOLARS ARE MATED Lebanon Valley College Preceptors Are Now Man and Wife PROF AND MRS SCHLICHTER Latter Well Known as Miss Maude Etta Wolfe--President Hervin U. Roop Ties the Nuptial Knot--To Live at Annville. Annville, June 23--Prof. Norman Colestock Schlichter, of Lebanon Valley College, where he fills the chair of Franch and is associate professor in English, and Miss Maude Etta Wolfe, preceptress and professor of the English language and literature of the same institution, were married this morning at the home of the President of the College, Dr. H. U. Roop, with only a few intimate friends witnessing the ceremony. Dr. Roop performed the ceremony according to the rites of the United Brethren Church. The newly wedded couple left on a morning train for Boston, Cambridge and other New England points where they will spend their honeymoon. The bride is the daughter of Cornelius Wolfe, of Dayton, O., and has filled the chair of English language and literature for four years, as well as the preceptress of the institution. The groom is the youngest son of the late Rev. Mr. Schlichter, of Chambersburg, is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College, class of 1897, has been actively engaged in Y.M.C.A. work at Philadelphia and for three years has filled the professorship of French and associate professorship in English. During the past year he has taken a post-graduate course in Harvard University, where he specialized in English and French. The newly wedded couple have the best wishes of a host of friends. After September Prof. and Mrs. Schlichter will reside in Annville, the former resuming his duties at the college.
