I, Jacob P. Gingrich of North Annville Township in the County of Lebanon and State of Pennsylvania being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and understanding (praised be God for it) considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end I may be better prepared to leave this world whenever it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this my last will and testament in manner following (that is to say), first and principally I command my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time heretofore made and as to say I wish that David Nye shall have me interred in the burying ground aside my wife. And the said David Nye shall at my expense furnish coffin, shrouding, tombstone and all that is necessary to provide for the funeral. I order that all my just debts, funeral expenses and charge of proving this my will be in the first place fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof and every part thereof. I give and bequeath to David Nye the sum of Fifty Dollars. I give and bequeath unto Polly Nye, wife of David Nye, the sum of Fifty Dollars and all my household furniture such as bed and bedstead, table, bureau, settee, chest, clock, chair, ---------, stove, etc. I also give and bequeath unto David Nye and Peter Nye all my clothing in equal portions and the remainder of my ready money I give and bequeath unto the following to have in equal portions, namely unto Polly Nye, wife of David Nye, unto Rosie Nye, wife of Peter Nye, unto Catherine Troxel, wife of John Troxel and unto John Gingrich, Simon Gingrich, Jacob Gingrich and unto Leah Campbell, wife of David Campbell and unto the children of Elizabeth Zering, wife of Jacob Zering, deceased. So the said children together to have one portion so that the balance is divided in eight equal portions. And I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint David Nye of North Annville Twp. of Lebanon Co. and State of Pennsylvania for my executor of this my will and my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said testator Jacob P. Gingrich, have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the Fifteenth Day of March, One Thousand Eight hundred and Eighty one. his Jacob X P. Gingrich, as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who in his presence and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. Augustus Maulfair Daniel Maulfair On the 12th day of May, A.D. 1881 Before me, N. H. [Mathews], Register of Wills, etc., in and for said County, personally came Augustus Maulfair and Daniel Maulfair, the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing and within Will, who being duly aff'd did say that they were present, heard and saw Jacob P. Gingrich, the testator, sign, seal, publish and declare the foregoing and within Instrument of Writing, as and for his last Will and Testament, and at the doing thereof he was of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best if their knowledge and belief.
