To Salome, still unmarried Appoints son Jacob & Peter Barr Sr, son in law to be Exrs Dated Oct 25, 1806. Christopher Merckel (Christofel Merkel) Witnesses: Jonathan Krauss Johannes Lichtenwallner. Above read to me by Mr Weaver. On Jany 21, 1809, he makes a codicil in English & recites that he is of Macungie Tp., still Northampton Co. Gives to his "two grant children" children of my daughter Catherine intermarried with Peter Barr, the younger £200 ie £2l00 to be pd to my oldest grant daughter Mary Barr in 17 yrs after May 27, 1809 & £100 to the youngest of my grant daughters Judick Barr to be pd in 9 yrs after above date, but if they should die without issue, same to go to his son Jacob Markel. States that Catherine's husband Peter Barr is since deceased. On Nov 28, 1809, he makes another codicil, still giving residence as same & naming himself as Christopher Merckel this codicil also in English states that in his will he had given to his three daughters to wit: To my daughter Magdalena wife of Peter Barr £450 To my daughter Mariah, wife of Michael Peter £450 To my daughter Salome now wife of John Kiestler £450 Provides lighter liquidation for his son.
