Kuhns, of Upper Macungie, was probated today. She provides for a $100 tombstone and gives a contingent bequest of $60 to Lena Ruch for furniture. After that she made the following bequests: Jordan Reformed Church, $100; Samuel Moyer, $700; Jonas Meyer, $200; Sarah, widow of Joseph Wetherhold. $500; Rebecca, wife of Samuel Kuhns, $500; Helena, wife of Jeremiah Kern, $400; Lena Ruch, $200: Ellen Tice, $200; Minnie Ruch. $100; Susan. wife of Geo. Ruch, of Ohio, $200; Richard Kuhns, $200; Willis, Charles, Harry and Elwood Kuhns, sons of Richard Kuhns, $100 each; Mrs. Isabella Ritter, $200, and Carrie, wife of Percival Fryman, $100. The will provides that if there is a deficiency, the bequests shall abate proportionally. Samuel Kuhns was appointed executor. The will was made Oct. 24, 1889, and was witnessed by Lena Ruch and M. C. L. Kline. In May, 1891, the testatrix added a codicil revoking the bequests to Lena and Minnie Ruch and Ellen Tice, $500 in all. he codicil was witnessed by M. C. L. Kline and Samuel D. Kuhns. The estate, it is said, will net only about half of the bequests and the heirs will receive prorata shares. The husband of the testatrix, the late Charles Kuhns, who died about 1888, left a will giving $1000 to the Jordan Lutheran Church, $500 to the Jordan Reformed Church and the residue of his estate to the Mt. Airy Lutheran Seminary. There was a contest and a compromise by which his wife got the use of a certain share of the estate during her lifetime. He owned a fine farm on the line between Upper Macungie and South Whitehall Townships, which was bought by Lewis Lichtenwallner, of Chapman's. About $3000 was left in the farm for the widow's benefit. This amount was paid by Mr. Lichtenwallner today to the legatees of the Charles Kuhns will. Of this amount the Jordan Lutheran Church will receive $284: the Jordan Reformed Church, $157, and the Mt. Airy Seminary, $1200.
