Mrs. Anna Rahl, 80, of Shickshinny, died Friday in Berwick Hospital Retirement
Village Nursing Home where she was a guest three years. Born in Edwardsville,
June 29, 1906, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Matura. She
was first employed by the Duplan Silk Mill and later, by the Baer Throwing Mill,
Berwick, retiring in 1969. Mrs. Rahl was a member of the Ascension Church,
Mocanaqua, and its Altar and Rosary Society; Sokols Society and the Senior
Citizens Society of Shickshinny. Her husband, Robert A., died May 25, 1985.
Surviving are a son, Robert A. Jr., Trenton, N.J.; daughters, Mrs. Dominick
(Eleanor) Antonacci, Berwick; Mrs. Joseph (Marcella) Ceglarski, Shickshinny;
eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
brothers, John and Paul Matura and a sister, Mary Krehel. Funeral will be
Tuesday at 9 from the Mayo Funeral Home, 110 Chestnut St., Berwick, with a Mass
of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Ascension Church. Interment will be in the parish
cemetery. Friends may call Monday 4 to 9. Rosary will be recited Monday at
4:30.
