Robert A. Rahl, 82, of 15 Vine_ St., Shickshinny, died Saturday morning at the
Berwick Retirement Village Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for 15
months. Born in McAdoo, he was a son of the late Louis and Elizabeth Rahl. He
resided in Edwardsville before moving to Berwick, RD 1, in 1936. He had resided
in Shickshinny since 1942. He was formerly employed as a mechanic by the Duplan
Silk Mill, Berwick. Before retiring in 1974, he was employed by National Select
Fabric, Berwick. Mr. Rahl was a member of Ascension Church, Mocanaqua, its Holy
Name Society and Sokol Lodge. He and his wife, the former Anna Matura,
celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary Jan. 6. Surviving, in addition to his
wife, are his son, Robert Jr., Trenton, N.J.; daughters, Mrs. Dominick (Eleanor)
Antonacci, Berwick; Mrs. Joseph (Marcella) Ceglarski, Shickshinny; brother.
Emil, Luzerne; sisters, Mrs. Helen Woznock, Mocanaqua; Mrs. Nellie Ivan, Wilkes-
Barre: Mrs. Tillie Phillips. Elmira, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today
at 11:15 a.m. from the Mayo Funeral Home, Second and Chestnut streets, Berwick,
with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in Ascension Church. The Rev. Carl T.
Prushinski will serve as celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
