Nellie and Charlie were two bright and beautiful children, and gave great promise for the future; but alas! they are removed suddenly from loving hearts and fond hopes. God sometimes lends to us beautiful specimens of humanity as ornaments to our earthly homes, and then removes them to beautify his own heavenly mansion. The great Artist would possess his master-piece of moral and intellectual creation. The earthly home is darker for their absence, but "There are lights along the shore that never grow dim." "Dear mother, don't think of us as in the tomb, For we shall not see its dark shadows and gloom, And we shall not fear though the river be wide, For Jesus will carry us over the tide. You'll know where to find us, dear mother, in heaven, Though every fond tie you have cherished be rive[?]. You'll follow us home to the land of the blest, Where sighs are not heard, and the weary ones rest. We're going to live with the angels so fair, We'll look for you mother, and wait for you there, Where tears do not flow, and where death cannot come, Together we'll dwell in that beautiful home."
