All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/luzerne/ _______________________________________________ Source: Luzerne County Court House Written: April 30, 1859 Recorded: September 1863 The Will of Rachel Randall April 30, 1859 (The original is on file at the Luzerne County Court House) In the name of God Amen: I Rachel Randall married woman of Kingston Township County of Luzerne and State of Pennsylvania being of the of sixty- six years and upwards and of sound mind, memory and understanding and in the enjoyment of good bodily health do make and declare the to be my last Will and Testament in manner following. First of all I commit my soul into hands of my savior and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner by my executor hereafter to be named and as to such worldly estate wherein it has pleased Almighty God to bless me with in this life. I dispose if in the following manner to wit. First I order that my just debts, funeral expenses and the charges of proving this my will be in the first place fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof I direct my Executors herein after named to furnish tombstone for my mothers grave at the graveyard in Forty-Fort. Secondly I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Smith intermarried with Anthony Smith, Sarah Pugh intermarried with Simon Pugh and Francis Casper intermarried with John Casper and their heirs all my household goods furniture, beds, bedding, chairs tables and the same to be equally divided among them. Share and share alike, and if either of them should die before the property should be so divided them the same shall be divided in like manner as afore said among the survivors. Thirdly I give and bequeath to my two sons William Randall and Charles Randall the sum of five dollars each to be paid to them and their heirs by my Executor hereinafter named. Fourthly I give and bequeath the residue of my property and estate both real and personal and money at interest. I give and bequeath to John Dunn, George Randall, James Randall, Silas Randall, Mary Smith, Sarah Pugh, Francis Casper and their heirs to be equally divided among them. Share and share alike but should either of them die without heirs them my will is that the amount divided to them shall revert to and be equally divided among my remaining heirs, share and share alike. And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint George Randall and John Dunn Executors of the my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other Will by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof O the testatrix Rachel Randall have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the Thirtieth day of April A.D. 1859. Rachel Randall Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testatrix Rachel Randall as and for her last Will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto and further certify that said Rachel Randall made her mark in our presence as above. Henry Woodhouse, Wyoming Antoinette Woodhouse, Wyoming Codicil to Rachel Randall's Will Whereas I Rachel Randall of Kingston Township within named have made my last Will and Testament in writing bearing date April 30, 1859, as therein-set fourth. Now I do by this my writing, which I hereby declare to be a Codicil to my said last Will and Testament and to take as a par thereof, order and declare that my will is that my Grandson Silas C. Randall son of Silas Randall my son within named shall have one good bedstead and all the necessary bedding and I desire the his father shall take care of it for him that he shall not be allowed to make way with it but rather that it shall be kept for him until he is of sufficient age to need it and be able to take care of it and that the remaining part of my will within named and not hereby altered shall be and remain in full force. And lastly it is my desire that this Codicil be accepted to and made a part of my last Will and testament as afore said to all intents and purposes. In witness whereof I the said testatrix Rachel Randall hereunto set my hand and seal and declare this to be a Codicil to my last Will and Testament as aforesaid this 22nd day of July 1862. Kuef register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County aforesaid personally came Henry Woodhouse and Antoinette Woodhouse the subscribing witness to the above and forgoing last Will and Testament of Rachel Randall who being duly sworn according to the law do say that they were present and saw and heard Rachel Randall the testatrix sign seal publish pronounce and declare the forgoing instrument of writing as and for her last Will and Testament and the at the time of signing she was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of her knowledge and belief and that they did sign their names as subscribing witnesses in the presence of each other and ion the presence and at the request of the said Testatrix Geo D, Kuef, Register Luzerne County SS
