Mr. Dunsmore is a well known railroad man who occupies the responsible position of train master on the low grade division of the Allegheny Valley railroad. His bride is a member of one of the oldest and best families in McKean county. They did not have many acquaintances in Ridgway and took this method of escaping the reception that would have been accorded them had they been married where they were well known. They succeeded admirably in keeping their mission a secret. September 24, 1897 Mr. U.S. Rogers, of Warren, and Miss Ellie Muzzy, of Columbus, were married at the latter place last Wednesday. The twain met and after a lover-like greeting, they assumed an air of deep mystery and immediately hied themselves to the Erie depot and boarded a train for Limestone. The happy couple returned to Bradford and later boarded the excursion train for Pleasantville, where they are now at home to their friends. Both are quite well known here and have the best wishes of their Bradford friends. – Bradford Era. Edward G. Moses The Journal, of Ord, Valley county, Neb., of Oct. 29, contained the following marriage notice which will interest Mrs. Moses’ many Smethport friends, all of whom will unite with the Democrat in extending congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Britton: On October 24th at the home of an old friend in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Mr. Geo. W. Britton, of that city, to Mrs. Mary Moses, of Ord, the pastor of the First Baptist church officiating. Mrs. Moses left Ord last week announcing her innocent purpose of a short visit to old friends and this is the sequal. Moreover the romance connected with the marriage of this worthy pair proves that all the interesting things are not written in books. Many years ago this couple decided to take each other for better or for worse, but the match was then prevented by the interposition of relatives. Now after the flight of many years in which both parties have taken to themselves other partners and reared families of children they have returned to the old love, and there being by this time no hostile relatives the above is the happy consummation. Mrs. Moses is well known and esteemed in Valley county and her friends will congratulate the husband upon his choice of a wife. Mr. Britton is somewhat acquainted here having spent part of the summer here and looked over the county with a view of investing some money. They will return to Ord in the near future and probably spend some time in this vicinity. The Journal extends the right hand of fellowship and wishes these good people many peaceful and happy years. The groom is one of Smethport’s well known and reliable business men, and the bride is a lady who has endeared herself to the people of Smethport by her many womanly graces, and the Democrat unites with Mr. and Mrs. Colegrove’s many friends in tendering them its best wishes for their future happiness and prosperity. Mr. and Mrs. Colegrove left on the 11 o’clock train on the W.N.Y.&P. R.R. on their wedding trip, which will include Washington, D.C., and other Southern points.
