Apr 30, 1903: A Memorable Birthday. Mrs. E.R. Baker invited a few old friends of her grandmother, Mrs. Ford, to dine with her on her ninetieth birthday, Friday, April 24. It was a very unusual and interesting occasion. Mrs. Ford entertained us with reminiscences of her early life in a cheerful and animated manner, quoting also for our delight from the finest authors from whose noblest creations her mind had become a rich treasury. At ninety years of age Mrs. Ford sat the center and life of the company. More remarkable than all else is her increasing interest in the study of the bible. It was an hour to be remembered as there unfolded to her wrapt listeners her comprehensive grasp of its grand truths of their development through the ages; of their culmination in Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, and the light and hope of her life immortal. This is the first event of the kind that ever happened here and has been the source of much comment. At present writing all are doing nicely. Jun 11, 1903: Page 5. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. F.D.
