This can only be considered a partial list as many pages of the paper are unreadable and some may have been missed. All items were found on page 3 of the paper unless specifically noted otherwise. May 1, 1879, page 3: A Pleasant Wedding. The marriage of Miss Maggie McCabe and Mr. J. Regan took place at the Catholic church in Smethport, on Tuesday morning of last week, and was attended by a large number of friends. Rev. Father Smith performed the marriage ceremony in a very becoming and impressive manner, after which the happy couple received the usual congratulations, then returned to the residence of the bride’s father where they sat down to an elegant breakfast. Mr. and Mrs. Regan left for Buffalo by the afternoon train. They were intending visiting Niagara Falls, then return by the way of Erie to their home at Crossingville in Crawford county. Maggie carries with he the wish of the writer combined with those of a host of friends for continued happiness and prosperity. Mary McK. Married. PROVIN-TAYLOR.-At the residence of W.B. Moore, in Farmers Valley, on Wednesday, April 30, 1879, by Rev. S.A. Williams, Mrs. A.L. Provin and Miss Nellie J. Taylor, both of Farmers Valley. BAYER-SMITH.-In Smethport, April 2?, 1879, by G.M. Smith, Esq., Mr. George F. Bayer, of Norwich township, and Miss M.A. Smith of Keating. Aug 14, 1879, page 3: Married. WINDSOR-PECKHAM.- At the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. Frank A. Windsor, of Larrabee, Pa., and Miss Rosa(name is questionable) A. Peckham of West Clarksville, N.Y. Sep 25, 1879, page 3: Married. By Wm Heiseman, Esq., Setp. 17, 1879, Mr. Newton d. Grover of Norwich township and Miss S. Ina Acre of Liberty township. Oct 30, 1879, page 3: Hymenal. Rev. J.C. Whiteside drove up from Eldred on Tuesday to unite in marriage Mr. J.R. Droney, late of Brookton N.Y., and Miss Tina Ferris. The ceremony took place at the bride’s residence in Farmers Valley at 9 p.m. and the next day the bridal party departed upon the customary tour, attended with the congratulations and hearty good wishes of a host of friends, in which the printers most heartily join. Warfle, both of Hamlin Tp.,Pa. HUBBS-TUCKER.-At Smethport, June 2, 1880, by P. ford, Esq., Mr. Albert Hubbs, of Emporium Pa., to Miss Eliza S. Tucker, of Olean, N.Y. Jul 19, 1880, page 3: Married. WELSH-ANDERSON.-At the Baptist parsonage, July 5, 1880, by Rev. W. Whites, Mr. Charles J. Welsh, of Alton, to Miss Eva I. Anderson, of Lafayette, Pa. HOLLY-HEMPLE. – At Scio, NY. July 5th by Rev. Julius F. Brown, Mr. Williard W. Holly, of Myrtle, McKean County, to Miss Enphema Hemple, of East Hebron, Potter county Mr. Holly has long been a favorite in Myrtle and we wish him and his bride a long and a happy life. SWORT-BROUGHAM.-At the residence of the bride’s father, June 30? by Rev. S.C. Williams, Mr. Abram W. Swort, of Independence, N.Y. and Miss Alice E. Brougham, of Farmer’s Valley. GRIGSBY-SPENCER.-At the residence of the bride’s father, July 1st, by Rev. S.C. Williams, Mr. Newton H. Grigsby, of Port Allegany, to Miss Alice O. Spencer, of Farmer’s Valley. Aug 12, 1880, page 3: Eugene Thompson, of Minneapolis, Kansas, of whom we made mention last week as being here on a visit to Mrs. C.S. King, his sister, has since that time slipped off to Himsdale, N.Y., and captured one of the fairest daughters of that town, Miss Ella Goodrich. Eugene frankly says-now the affair is over- that he did not come on a visit but his trip was solely a business one. We, however, wish them a happy voyage down the stream of time.
