Thomas http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00016.html#0003785 August 29, 2009, 8:05 pm McKean County Democrat, Smethport, Pa., Thursday, August 3, 1950, Front Page Grant Love, 43, Prominent Area Resident, Dies Veteran of Overseas Service During World War Two Grant Love, Smethport R.D. 3, prominent resident of this area for the past 35 years, died in the Olean General Hospital at 8:50 a. m. Sunday. He had been hospitalized since June 30. Born August 4, 1906 in Mansfield, Pa., he was married in July 1937, to Helen Berg of Farmers Valley, who preceded him in death in 1944. During World War II he served overseas. He was a member of the McKean County Veterans of Foreign Wars, Bucktail Post 138, American Legion, and McKean Lodge 388, F. and A. M. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Milton Lopus and Barbara Love, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Miller Stickles, Smethport, and Mrs. Bert Moser, Palm Springs, Cal.; one brother, Clark Love, Farmers Valley; and one aunt, Mrs. Jennie Sworts of Whitesville, N. Y. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 o’clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. Miller Stickles on the Smethport-Ormsby road. The Rev. Cecil Ross, pastor of the Farmers Valley Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military services were conducted at the grave, under the direction of Bucktail Post 138, American Legion, and McKean County Post 2497, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
