Mrs. Ellen M. Nordahl, aged 73, of Maple St. Extension, a Kane resident for almost
50 years, died early this morning at the Kane Summit hospital, after an illness of
only two days. She was removed to the hospital on Sunday in critical condition, and
failed to rally. Mrs. Nordahl was born January 13, 1880, in Gottland, Sweden, and
came to the United States about fifty years ago, locating in Kane upon her arrival
in this country. She was a member of Tabor Lutheran church, and of the women's
societies of the church. Her husband, Herman Nordahl, died several years ago. They
were married in 1899 at Limestone, N. Y. Mrs. Nordahl is survived by five children,
three daughters, Mrs. Helga Gerber, Mt. Vernon O., Mrs. Marion Walters of Pittsburgh
and Mrs. Mildred Hill, Kane; two sons, Elmer Nordahl, Nicholson, Pa, and Edwin
Nordahl of Kane; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren plus two brothers
in Sweden. Funeral services will be held at the John F. Hill funeral home on
Thursday at 2:30 with the Rev. Mallard L. Nelson of Tabor Lutheran church
officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
