OSTRANDER C. A. Ostrander, aged 76 years, of Gifford, passed away Monday morning at 7:00 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Kemp, of Eldred. Mr. Ostrander had been in poor health for a long time. Deceased was born in Port Allegany but had resided in Gifford for the past 25 years. He was on the pension list of the South Penn Oil Co. as a reward for long years of faithful service for that company. Mr. Ostrander had a wide circle of friends in the oil fields and throughout this section. Besides his daughter, Mrs. Kemp, he is survived by three brothers, Walter, John and Byron Ostrander, all of Port Allegany and three sisters, Mrs. Lew Thomas of East Smethport, Mrs. Henrietta Freeman of Bradford and Mrs. Lydia Abbey of Smethport. Dr. W. A. Ostrander of Smethport is a nephew of the deceased. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in the East Smethport United Brethren Church.
