Thomas http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00016.html#0003785 August 31, 2009, 9:33 am McKean County Democrat, Smethport, Pa., Thursday, October 27, 1932, Page 8 PISTOL WOUND FATAL TO MATTHEW OSTRANDER Port Allegany, October 26—Matthew Ostrander, thirty-four years old, who was accidentally shot here on October 13, passed away at the Port Allegany Hospital Sunday morning at four o’clock. Mr. Ostrander was accidentally shot with a revolver which was being demonstrated to him by his brother-in-law. The bullet passed through the lower part of his lung and lodged in his spine. For several years, Mr. Ostrander had been a brakeman on the Pennsylvania Railroad. He is survived by his wife and three children and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ostrander. Deceased is a cousin of Dr. W. A. Ostrander of Smethport. Funeral services were held at the Grimes Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, the Rev. C. B. Kinney, pastor of the U. B.
