Y., and Smethport in memory of William J. Schreiber who succumbed to a brief illness Saturday afternoon. Mr. Schreiber, for many years foreman for the Messer Oil Company of Olean, N. Y., was stricken ill two weeks ago and taken to the Olean General Hospital. He succumbed at the hospital Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olive Thomas Schreiber, a former Smethport resident, and two sons, Jack and William, both at home in Portville. Three brothers, his twin, Harry Schreiber of Olean, formerly of Kane; John and George of Sergeant, and two sisters, Mrs. L. F. Siegel of Sergeant and Mrs. William Faul of Clarksburg, W. Va., also survive. A private prayer service was held at the late residence at 9 o’clock followed by rites from St. Elizabeth’s church in Smethport at 10 a. m. The Rev. Urban S.
