Deceased was born in Michigan and grew to manhood in this area. He was the son of the late Comrade William Nelson Van Sickles and wife, Ellen Rose Burrows Van Sickle, early residents of upper Skinner Creek. For the past several years, he has lived in Crosby where he was a valued employee of the Susquehanna Chemical Company. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ada Nelson Van Sickles; two daughters, Mrs. Barnor Manning of Port Allegany, and Mrs. Marjory Sheriffe of Kane; three sons, Richard of Port Allegany; Bernard of Crosby, and Henry, Jr. of Bath, N. Y., and one sister Mrs. Harvey Hunter of Grand Rapids, Mich. Funeral services were held at the Walters Funeral Home in Port Allegany, Saturday, April 9, at two o’clock, Rev. John D. Westley officiating. Interment was made in the Grimes Cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: Robert Marsh, Richard Cunningham, Geo. Lathrop, Elsworth Lathrop, Edward Marsh and Ronald Rienard.
