Mr. Horam was born Jan. 9, 1902, in Foxburg, Pa., to William Jacob and Annie C. Faust Horam. A graduate of Detroit Automotive College, he retired after 43 years from Cooper Energy Services Reciprocating Products, Grove City. Mr. Horam was a member since Feb. 10, 1928, of East Main Presbyterian Church in Grove City. He also belonged to Vagabonds and Lamplighters; Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 1579, Grove City; and was a member and past master of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 603, also Grove City. His wife, the former Florence E. Garner, whom he married Nov. 6, 1923, died May 15, 1999. Surviving are: three children, Evelyn L. Hoover, Oberlin, Ohio; W. Franklin Horam, Mercer; and Judith Lynne Horam, Grove City; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. His wife passed away peacefully, surrounded by her husband and family at 2:15 p.m. Saturday in the intensive care unit of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 75. Mr. Bocko was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Youngstown, a son of Daniel and Zophia Chalupka Bocko. He moved to Sharon at the age of two and graduated from Sharon High School. Mr. Bocko was also a Youngstown State University alumnus, having received his bachelor's degree in accounting. Following a career in the public and private sectors, he retired in 1987 as an institutional collections officer for Polk Center. He was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sharon. A U.S. MARINE CORPS VETERAN, MR. BOCKO SERVED IN THE CENTRAL PACIFIC DURING WORLD WAR II. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he married the former Dorothy F. Dobrosky on Sept. 10, 1949. They met while working together at the Pennsylvania State Employment Service in Sharon Mrs. Bocko was born April 6, 1926, in Slickville, Pa., to Joseph Dobrosky and Anna Markin Dobrosky. Dorothy and her family moved to what is now Hermitage in 1926. She graduated from Sharon High School. Mrs. Bocko retired in 1988 after 371/2 years from Pennsylvania State Employment Service in Sharon. She was a 15-year active volunteer with Sharon Regional Health System's Hospice Home Care Program in Hermitage. She was a lifelong member of Church of the Sacred Heart in Sharon. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she married Daniel Bocko on Sept. 10, 1949. Surviving Mr. and Mrs. Bocko are: two daughters, Anna Mary Hoovler, wife of Dr. Dennis W. Hoovler, Hermitage; and Kathryn Bocko James, wife of Daniel E. James, Greenville; one son, Daniel R. Bocko and his wife Anne, Buffalo, Minn.; and two grandchildren, Lindsay Rebecca Bocko and Daniel Eric Bocko. A graduate of Commodore Perry High School Class of 1960, she attended Thiel College in Greenville for one year. She and her husband, Harley J. Cook Jr., were co-owners for 34 years of Shelly Memorial Studios in Greenville and Sandy Lake. Through the years, Mrs. Cook also participated with her husband in other business ventures. In Greenville, she was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 63; and Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Shrine 47, where she served two terms as Worthy High Priestess and three as Watchman of Shepherds. Mrs. Cook also served on the Supreme committees on the Supreme Floor. As a member of Hadley Presbyterian Church, she was an elder, served on the Session and was clerk of the church for many years. Mrs. Cook also taught Sunday school; was a Bible Study participant; and served on the search committee, a group organized for clergy selection. As a teen-ager, Mrs. Cook was an avid animal lover and had her own horses that she rode and showed at fairs. She loved gardening, cooking, canning and spending time with her pets. Mrs. Cook was a world class traveler and very involved with her grandchildren and her community. Surviving are: her husband, Harley, whom she married Aug. 5, 1961, at home; a son, Randall L. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he married the former Dorothy F. Dobrosky on Sept. 10, 1949. They met while working together at the Pennsylvania State Employment Service in Sharon. Mrs. Bocko was born April 6, 1926, in Slickville, Pa., to Joseph Dobrosky and Anna Markin Dobrosky. Dorothy and her family moved to what is now Hermitage in 1926. She graduated from Hickory High School. Mrs. Bocko retired in 1988 after 371/2 years from Pennsylvania State Employment Service in Sharon. She was a 15-year active volunteer with Sharon Regional Health System's Hospice Home Care Program in Hermitage. She was a lifelong member of Church of the Sacred Heart in Sharon. Murphy Co. of Red Oak, Iowa, for more than 30 years. Mr. Bridenbaugh and his wife Jeanne also owned and operated Enchanted Acres Campground in West Salem Township. He was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to Free and Accepted Masons Portage Lodge 220 in Hollidaysburg, Pa.; and Scottish Rite's New Castle Consistory. Mr. Bridenbaugh was also a longtime member of Sharpsville Service Club. He enjoyed traveling and golfing and was a member of Bronzewood Golf Club in Kinsman. She also served as a refreshment hostess for Vacation Bible School; and for the Backyard Neighborhood Children's Bible Class in Detroit. Susie participated annually in the Circle Y Ranch Bible Camp in Bangor, Mich., where she assisted in the kitchen and worked as a chaperone, helping to monitor children from ages seven to 12. She also attended the Bowin Place Bible Study at her building complex in Detroit. Though the years, Susie was known for her thoughtfulness, doing laundry and preparing meals for sick and shut-ins of her church family. A beloved friend and trusted role model for many young Christians, she was a recipient of several commendations including Excellence in Christian Service to the Circle Y Bible Camp; and faithful service to Bethany Chapel; and earned a Certificate of Appreciation in 1984 from New Ways Ministries in Bermuda. Susie loved fishing in Belle Isle, Mich.; Canada; and at Circle Y Camp. She enjoyed traveling in the United States, and especially to Canada and Jamaica, where she traveled with her pastor and his wife, the Rev. Owen and Sybil Fraser; Liston and Maudie Kitchen; and a group of her other beloved church members. Susie moved from Detroit to Masury in 1998 and, until her illness, attended Cedar Avenue Church of God with her cousin and caretaker, Martha L. Martin, wife of Osborne Martin Sr. of Masury, with whom she lived. Mrs. Cook was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Meadville to Lawrence and Iza Hollabaugh Slingluff. A graduate of Commodore Perry High School Class of 1960, she attended Thiel College in Greenville for one year. She and her husband, Harley J. Cook Jr., were co-owners for 34 years of Shelly Memorial Studios in Greenville and Sandy Lake. Through the years, Mrs. Cook also participated with her husband in other business ventures. In Greenville, she was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 63; and Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Shrine 47, where she served two terms as Worthy High Priestess and three as Watchman of Shepherds. Mrs. Cook also served on the Supreme committees on the Supreme Floor. As a member of Hadley Presbyterian Church, she was an elder, served on the Session and was clerk of the church for many years. Mrs. Cook also taught Sunday school; was a Bible Study participant; and served on the search committee, a group organized for clergy selection. As a teen-ager, Mrs. Cook was an avid animal lover and had her own horses that she rode and showed at fairs. She loved gardening, cooking, canning and spending time with her pets. Shirley also enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading. She also used to write articles in the mid-to late-1950s for the Slippery Rock Signal called the "Branchton Items." She was 57. Mrs. Muirhead was born April 1, 1944, in Grove City, a daughter of Merle and Hazel Williams McNees. She had worked as a hairdresser in Butler and had also been employed in food service at Slippery Rock University. In this area, a big part of Mrs. Muirhead's life was being supportive to youth in the community. She was a Methodist by faith. Heilman, Sharon, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, in Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township. She was 89. Miss Heilman was born Jan. 23, 1913, in Sharon to Dr. Ralph S. Heilman and Laura Burns Kirk Heilman. She was a 1931 graduate of Sharon High School, where she played basketball, and attended Syracuse (N.Y.) University. She earned a bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and a master's degree in education guidance from Westminster College in New Wilmington. Miss Heilman also completed an additional 66 hours in education and counseling courses at local colleges to maintain her level of professionalism throughout her career. She taught in Sharon, Brookfield, West Middlesex and Sharpsville school systems and retired after 20 years of service from Sharpsville Area School District. Miss Heilman also coached women's basketball in West Middlesex and Sharpsville schools. She was named in Who's Who of American Women. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Miss Heilman served in the women's reserve during World War II. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Sharon; Pennsylvania State Education Association; National Education Association; Business and Professional Women of the Shenango Valley; Sharon College Club; and American Legion Post 299 in Sharon. Miss Heilman was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Ralph S. Heilman and W. Kirk Heilman.
