  		Florence L. McCartney
  	Florence L. McCartney, Overlook Medical Center, New Wilmington, formerly of
  East Lackawannock Township, died at 10 a.m. Friday (7-23-93) in the Overlook
  after an extended illness.  She was 91.
  	Mrs. McCartney was born Oct. 10, 1901, in New Castle to Daniel and Gwendolyn
  Michaels Leyshon.
  	She graduated from Farrell High School and what is now Indiana University of
  Pennsylvania.
  	She was a kindergarten teacher for the Mercer Area School District until 1967
  when she retired.
  	She was a member of the White Chapel United Methodist Church, Wilmington
  Township, and Order of Eastern Star, Mercer Chapter 180.
  	Her husband, Russell M. McCartney whom she married June 6, 1931, died in 1950.
  	Surviving are a daughter, Julia "Judy" Ligo, Mercer, and two grand-daughters.
  	She was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Leyshon.
