Feby 1823. Samuel McWilliams was born the 18th. Jany 1825. Geo. Washington McWilliams was born the 31st. Jan.y 1827. James Henry McWilliams was born Nov 30th. 1829. 2d. Mary Ann McWilliams was born the 31st. Aug. 1832. Martha McWilliams was born the 20th. August 1835. Thos. Boston McWilliams was born the 30th. July 1838. MARRIAGES. Jona. McWilliams and Hetty Borland was maried on the 21st. of October 1819. DEATHS. Mary Ann McWilliams Died the 1st. Sept -- 1823 Aged 2 years 10 months and 20 days. James Henry McWilliams Died the 6th. Nov. 1842 Aged 13 years and 6 days Thomas Boston McWilliams was killed in the Battle of Antietam in Maryland on the 17th. September AD 1862 Aged 25 years one month and 17 days Notes: The above transcription is from handwritten script entries on 2 pages torn from (presumably) a Family Bible. The pages (8_ ³ x 10_ ³) are old and well worn but legible. The entries (except for the last death) appear as though they were all written into the Record at one time. The entries do not have a clear ³c² in the surname ³McWilliams², appearing more like ³M Williams² instead. The ³Lewistown True Democrat², issue of 20 Oct 1881, announced the death of 82-year old Esther McWilliams, relict of Judge Jonathan McWilliams, in McVeytown, October 17, buried Spruce Creek. Another issue announced the death of John B. McWilliams, 54, brother of Samuel of McVeytown and father of Walter; went west with his son in 1876 to mine near Mineral City, Colo.; died in Capital City, 15 Sep 1877. The following two Death Notices, clipped from unidentified and undated newspapers, were with the Family Record: McWILLIAMS, -- In McVeytown, Oct. 17, 1881, Esther McWilliams, aged 82 years, 9 months and 6 days. Mrs. McWilliams was the widow of Judge McWilliams, and the mother of Samuel McWilliams Esq., our Banker. McWILLIAMS, -- On the evening of the 29th ult., at his residence, in the city, GEORGE W. McWILLIAMS, in the 45th year of his age. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, from his late residence, No. 1634 Green street, this (Saturday) afternoon, at 2 o¹clock. =============================================================================
