Born Dec. 5, 1951, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Darl and Jean (Mahoney) Burdge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Burdge, a sister, Sharon Kline, and a brother-in-law, Ken Fultz. Donald is survived by: daughter, Stephanie Brungart and husband, Russell, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Ashley Kuhns, Brittany Dillon and husband, Nathaniel, and Caleb Campbell; two great-grandchildren, Harper Carl and Liam Dillon; six siblings, Susan Burdge, and Ronald Burdge and wife, Anita, of Lewistown, Cristy Shaffer and husband, Scott, of Harrisburg, David Burdge and wife, Lucinda, of Milroy, Timothy Burdge, of Mifflintown, and Jacqueline Burdge, of McClure; sister-in-law, Eileen Burdge, of Reedsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1969. Donald was a U.S. Air Force veteran assigned to the 14th Missile Wing Squadron, Laredo Air Force Base, Texas, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was employed by Hinkel and McCoy Construction for 20 years installing fiberoptic cables. Steve enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, fishing, watching movies, making spaghetti and spending time with family and friends. He was loving, generous and always willing to lend a helping hand. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown, with VFW Post 7011 providing military honors at 7 p.m. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.hellerhoenstinefuneralhome.com.
