Bigelow, 89, of 112 N. Main St., Yeagertown, died 10:09 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Lewistown Hospital. Born April 6, 1916, in Belleville, he was a son of the late W. Fred and Mabel V. (Kratzer) Bigelow. His wife, Rita C. (Hoover) Bigelow, whom he married April 12, 1934, survives. Also surviving are children; Janet L. Short, Hershey, Frederick H. Bigelow and wife Janice R., State College; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. He retired from Standard Steel in 1981 with 41 years of service. Early in life he worked for his father who owned W.F. Bigelow Painting Contractor, painting many houses, churches and court houses. He was a member of St., John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking and drawing and also loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed entertaining them. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gary A. Roth officiating. Interment will be in Yeagertown Lutheran Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
