Bratton were held in the parlors of undertaker J. H. Fretz Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock, Reverend Dr. M. S. Cressman officiating. The funeral party accompanied by the body went this morning to Selinsgvove where the burial was made in the Union Cemetery. The persons accompanying the remains from Lewistown to Selinsgrove in automobiles were: D. O. and W. M. Price, Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Blair Shore, C. V. O'Connor, all of Mapleton, and the officiating clergyman, Reverend Cressman, of Lewistown. The body was laid to rest beside that of the wife of the deceased. Mr. Bratton was born at Ryde, Mifflin County, 74 years ago. His wife, whose maiden name was Sallie Middlesworth of McClure, preceded him to the grave 17 years ago, her death occurring at McClure. For 20 years he was a foreman on the Sunbury & Lewistown railroad division, while he resided at McClure. Twenty-nine years ago he retired from his railroad position and active life. During the recent years he roomed at Seven Central Avenue and boarded at the New Central Hotel, Lewistown. He was a member of the Masonic order and was a familiar figure on the Lewistown streets. About three weeks ago, he went to Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., to undergo an operation for an enlarged prostrate gland. He underwent this severe ordeal last November 28 at the Jefferson Hospital and continued to improve from the operation until the morning of December 5, and at 10 o'clock, when he took a turn for the worse and at 9:30 o'clock of the same date he died unexpectedly.
