BRIGGS Of Warren, a native of Newton Hamilton and well known in Altoona through visits with relatives here, died at 7 o'clock this morning in the Warren General hospital, of which he was chief of staff. He had been ill since March 10. Dr. Briggs was born in Newton Hamilton, a son of Frank S. and Mary Ellen (Briggs) Briggs, and grew up there, graduating from Juniata college and Jefferson Medical school, Philadelphia. Dr. Briggs served as a captain in World war I and had been located in Warren ever since. Surviving are his wife, one son, one grandson, and 10 brothers and sisters, among them being Mrs. W. R. Myers and Mrs. J. J. Costello, both of Altoona. Interment will be made at Mount Union. Altoona Mirror, Wednesday, August 18, 1948, page 18
