LOCAL AND PERSONAL.

  Charles E. Corkle, of McVeytown, a brakeman on the local freight 
train, was caught between the bumpers at Mifflintown, on Friday 
evening, and so fatally injured that he died soon afterwards.  Deceased 
was well known to many of our citizens, and was much thought of.  He 
was aged about 28 years, and leaves a wife and four children.
