Mary L. Ewing passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024 at her home with her loving
family by her side at the age of 79.
Mary was born April 27, 1945 in Middleburg, a daughter of the late Stanley “Shorty”
and Margaret (Klingler) Kaufman.
What’s the “odds” that a “farm boy” from Crossgrove would meet a “city slicker” from
Middleburg? Well it happened and on Feb. 27, 1965 Mary married her “best buddy”,
Dennis Ewing. Dennis likes to tell the story of marrying Mary as a favor to the
Middleburg Boys. (wink! -wink!)
Together Dennis and Mary raised two sons, Chad and Brad Ewing.
In addition to her parents Mary has two deceased brothers, Jimmie and Butch
