The son, also named William, a manly boy about 9 years old, was in the habit of carrying his father's dinner to his working place on the turnpike, and on the day named started as usual. When somewhere between the two bridges, it is supposed he amused himself by throwing a little dog into the stream, and probably thus fell into the water unseen by any one. His father waited a considerable time, and finally walked down the road, found the bucket with his dinner in it standing on the bank, and the dog near it apparently watching for the reappearance of the boy. Search was immediately instituted, but the body was not recovered until about 4 o'clock. - Lewistown Gazette.
