John (Jack) M. Grainda, Jr. of Mechanicsburg, passed away on May 21, 2023, after a
long illness. He was born in Philipsburg, NJ, on August 13, 1932, to John M.
Grainda, Sr. and Mary Grainda,.
He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1952-56 and was honorably
discharged. Jack married his high school sweetheart Rose (Mirenna) in Phillipsburg
in 1958 and was happily married for 65 years. In his early years, he played baseball
from 1950-52 in the Blue Mountain League as a pitcher.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth,
Mary and Eleanor. Along with his wife Rose, Jack is survived by his three sons, John
III, his wife Elizabeth of Carmel, IN,: son Joseph, his wife Elizabeth of Cornelius,
NC, : son Jeffrey, his wife Rose of Ft. Collins, CO, 
A private burial will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
