Garrett, of Burnham, died on Wednesday morning after a protracted illness. A wife and four adult children survive him. Deceased was a brother of C. S. Garrett, former sheriff and treasurer. He was a veteran of the late war and a member of Col. Hulings Post. He was also a member of lodge 270, Knights of Pythias, and both organizations will attend the funeral Friday at 2 p.m. Interment at Yeagertown. Interment on Friday at 2 o'clock in Yeagertown cemetery. Democrat and Sentinel, Thursday, February 4, 1897 YEAGERTOWN. John H. Garrett of Burnham was laid to rest in the Yeagertown cemetery on Friday afternoon with military honors. A large number of people followed to pay their last tribute to his memory. One more brave soldier has answered the last roll call and has gone to join the innumerable host of the blest on the evergreen shore. One more soldier's grave to decorate when spring flowers bloom. After the toils of this life are past his rest is sweet. He was a devoted member of the M. E. church for many years. Democrat and Sentinel, Lewistown, Thursday, February 11, 1897
