HUNTINGDON

WILLIAM GIBBON

  William Gibbon, a colored veteran of the Civil war who was in the Dayton 
soldiers home while on a trip to visit his sons at Lewistown stopped off in 
Huntingdon and was taken sick at the home of George Brown, of Stone Creek.  
His two sons were notified and they took him to the Lewistown hospital where 
he died last Thursday.  This old veteran was a son of Jube Gibbons, a Negro, 
who lived in Huntingdon years ago and whom everyone knew.
