Elsie E. “Sis” Hackenberger, 89, of Locust Run, passed away  Wednesday, March 6,
2024, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
Born Dec. 30, 1934, she was a daughter of the late John K. and Hazel (VanHorn)
Kerchner. Her husband, Carl A. “Pete” Hackenberger, whom she married June 21, 1952,
passed away on Sept. 28, 2001.
She is survived by three children, Curtis Hackenberger of Port Royal, Scott D.
Hackenberger of Thompsontown, and Tonda M. Brubaker of Mifflintown.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters,
Marie Bahn and Tina Regester.
Interment in Locust Run Cemetery.
