Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., McAlisterville.
Richard A. Harvey, 89, of Pottsville, formerly of McAlisterville, passed away
peacefully at 12:39 AM, Monday, June 24, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his
family.

Born on March 13, 1935, in Danville, Montour County, he is a son of the late Guy M.
and Amanda May (Matthews) Harvey.

On July 2, 1988, he married his late wife, Naomi P. (Varner) Harvey with whom he was
blessed to share over 30 years of marriage before her passing on November 19, 2018.


He is survived by his three sons, Thomas Harvey, Timothy Harvey, and Terry Harvey
and one brother, Douglas Harvey. 

Mr. Havey honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958 including one
year in Korea. 

Interment will follow at the St. John’s United Methodist Church Cemetery,
McAlisterville
