Edith P. Kanagy, 94, of Belleville, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023
at her home.
She was born on May 24, 1929 in Belleville to the late Joseph A. and Ada (Peachey)
Byler. Her late husband, Sherman M. Kanagy, whom she married on March 26, 1949,
preceded her in death on May 11, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she
was preceded in death by twin sister, Ethel Byler, Tilma Harshbarger, Martha
Peachey, Mary Byler, Florence Vaughn, Jefferson Byler, Anna Hartzler and stillborn
brother Raymond Byler.
She is survived by her children: Ethel C. Lentz and husband Gary of Thompsontown,
Glen M. Kanagy and wife Donna, Lee R. Kanagy, Ann M. Smith and husband Glenn,
Kenneth R. Kanagy and wife Susan, all of Belleville; sisters Flora Byler of
Belleville and Emma Jane Roth and husband Nelson of Belleville.
Edith was a member of the Allensville Mennonite Church
Burial in the Allensville Mennonite Cemetery
