Alice E. Long, 88, of Valley View Haven Nursing Home passed away on Tuesday, July 2,
2024 at Valley View.
She was born Oct. 11, 1935 to the late Harry W. and Margaret S. (Scott) Stuart. In
1953, she married Harry O. Long, who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2004. In
addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter,
Margaret “Muff” Peachey in 2000, and sisters Katherine Hay and Margaret Sczkowski.
Surviving are children: E. Linn Irvin of Belleville, William S. Long of Lexington,
Neb., David A. Long of Belleville and a brother Albert E. “Bud” Stuart of Chicago,
Ill.
The burial at the Machpelah Cemetery in Belleville.
