Mackneer, aged 47 years and 9 days, died Monday evening, 5:50 o'clock, at his home along the state road opposite Shawnee, after an illness of four years with tuberculosis. He was a section laborer employed on the Main line of the Penna. railroad for several years until failing health incapacitated him from further service. He is survived by his wife, whose maiden name was Ella Brought of Granville, and by five children: Walter, Ernest, Lewis, Nannie and Dorothy, all at home, the oldest child being fifteen years old and employed at the Thompsontown Bros. knitting factory, Lewistown. Four children are dead. Three brothers, William Mackneer of Lake Park, George Mackneer of Morefield, W. Va., and Banks Mackneer of Lewistown Narrows, and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Mahalah) Hook of Lewistown Junction are also living. He was a member of the P.R.R. Relief Association. His funeral services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at his late residence, Rev. Chester B. Shank, pastor of Trinity Evangelical church in the Sixth ward officiating. Interment will be made in Corbin cemetery, Granville township. The Sentinel, 3/21/1916
