OLDEST RESIDENT OF MIFFLIN COUNTY DEAD

Special to the Tribune.
  Lewistown, January 13. - Mrs. Nancy Madden, 97 years old, the oldest 
resident of Mifflin county, was buried here today.  Deceased was born in 
Germany valley, Huntingdon county, and is a first cousin to Rev. Andrew 
Spanogle, who survives her at 96 years, hale and hearty.  The aged pair were 
fast friends during their entire life.  Dutton Madden, husband of the 
deceased, died eleven years ago and she is survived by one son, Cyrus Madden, 
at the Old Soldiers' home at Dayton, O.  Mrs. Madden retained all of her 
mental faculties up to an hour before her death and could recite many 
interesting stories of the early history of this section of the state.
