JAMES H. MCCLENATHAN

  Another soldier of the Civil War answered the final roll call last Sunday 
morning when James H. McClenathan passed away at the home of his daughter, 
Mrs. A. D. Raifsnider, where he had been in a precarious condition for some 
time.  His age was 83 years, 5 months and 10 days.
  Mr. McClenathan was born in Mifflin County, Pa., and enlisted in the war 
from that State, being a member of Co. K, 205th Pennsylvania Volunteer 
Infantry.  A brother, the late A. C. McClenathan, and their step-father John 
Miller, were members of the same Company and Regiment.
  Deceased was married to Miss Sarah Gearhart of York Township, who died in 
1893.  They were the parents of six children.  One son died at the age of 
four years, and five children survive, namely, Elmer McClenathan of 
Blissfield, Michigan, Mrs. George Kline of Bellevue, Mrs. Arthur Raifsnider 
of Clyde, Roy McClenathan of Toledo and, Mrs. Claud Diment of Clyde.  There 
are also 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
  Mrs. Geo. A. Deck, Mrs. Lyman Terry, and E. H. Miller of Clyde.  David 
Miller of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Samuel Miller of Castalia are half 
brothers of deceased.
  Mr. McClenathan had spent most of the time since 1907 at the Soldiers Home 
at Sandusky, but several months ago came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. 
Raifsnider, where he received every possible care and attention until the 
time of his death.  He was a good soldier and a good citizen.

  James H. McClenathan was the son of Julia Ann HASSINGER and George 
McClenathan.
  James and his wife Sarah shared the following children are as follows:
Theron McClenathan, Elmer McClenathan, Adaline McClenathan who married 
George Kline, Alverda McClenathan who married Arthur H. Raifsnider, Roy 
McClenathan and Caroline "Carrie" McClenathan who married Claude W. Diment.
