The funeral of James McManimy, an old soldier who died at his home in Lewistown, passed through this place on Sunday afternoon enroute to Vira, where he was laid to rest in the M. E. graveyard. Democrat and Sentinel, Thursday, February 4, 1897 VIRA ITEMS. The body of Jas. McManamy of Lewistown, Pa., was laid to rest in the M. E. cemetery here on Sabbath afternoon. The Grand Army had charge of the services at the grave, and Rev. W. F. D. Noble preached a very timely though brief sermon from the text, "He is faithful that promised."
