Earl R. Nickel, 89, of Thompsontown, passed away at 2:45 PM on Monday, August 5,
2024 at his residence. 

Born August 29, 1934 in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, he is a son of the late
Joseph and Mary Catherine (Miller) Nickel. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Pennabaker) Nickel; five children, Mary
McNaughton of Millerstown, John Nickel, Sr. of New Bloomfield, Connie Shields of
Carlisle, Tracy Cassell of Newville, and Larry “Clem” Swartz of Lewistown; one
sister, Alice Nickel of Lancaster. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, William
Nickel, Harry Nickel, Charles Nickel, Emma Swartz, Ruth Redifer, and Mildred La
Fever. 

Interment will follow in Maze Cemetery.
