Lester R. Rhodes, 86, of Reedsville, passed away at 9:18 a.m., Thursday, March 30,
2023, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
Born Feb. 1, 1937, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Edward and Mary Rhodes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby J. (Peters)
Rhodes on Jan. 21, 2021.
Lester is survived by: daughters, Debra Rimmey and husband, Barry, of Kansas, and
Linda K. Rhodes, of Milroy; grandsons, Dustin Rimmey and wife, Emily, and Brandon
Rimmey and wife, Laura, both of Kansas; six grandchildren, Toby, Ainsley, Charlie,
Logan, Landon and Audrey; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Lester was a Lewistown High School graduate.
He retired from the former New Holland-Belleville plant as a welder.
Lester enjoyed restoring and refinishing Hoosier cabinets and loved spending time
with his dog, Izzy, and his cat, Billy.
Per his wishes, there will be no services.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Lester’s name to One Dog At A Time
(ODAAT), 225 Meadow Woods Drive, Lewistown, PA 17044.
Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
