Under their local column of Deaths appeared the following:

"In Wayne township, Mifflin County, (Penn.) on the 4th of July, Mr. William 
Ross, aged 109 years.  The deceased was a soldier of Braddock's Field in 1775, 
where he was slightly wounded -- he was also a soldier during the whole of the 
Revolutionary War."
