Vernon A. ‘Tony’ Shawver

Vernon A. “Tony” Shawver, 90, of Lewistown, passed away at 4 a.m., Sunday, July 2,
2023, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Dec. 5, 1932, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Vernon and Beatrice
(Brown) Shawver.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by a brother, William
Shawver and a sister, Jean Miller.
Vernon is survived by: his loving wife of 70 years, Dorothea (Foltz) Shawver;
children, Vicki Yoder and husband, Daniel L., of McVeytown, Michael Shawver and
wife, Susan, of Lewistown, and Patti Beers and husband, Orville, of McVeytown; and
siblings, Betty Wray and Linda Morgan, both of Lewistown, and Terry Kiefer and
husband, Frank, of Ephrata.
He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed at Okinawa, Japan from Feb. 1953 to Jan. 1955
during the Korean Conflict.
Interment in Juniata Memorial Park.
