"Connie" Smith, 64, of 10 Smith Lane, McVeytown, died at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at the William Penn Nursing Center in Lewistown, where she had been a patient since April. She died following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Oct. 29 at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. Rev. Marlin Spickler officiated. Interment was made in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, RD1 Mapleton. Born Oct. 13, 1937, in Wayne Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of Anna (Wilson) Booher of RD1 Mount Union and the late Elmer Booher. She married Gerald R. Smith on Feb. 9, 1957. He died on March 11, 1969. In addition to her mother, she is survived by the following children: Pam Wagner, Luann Gray and Paul Smith, all of RD1 McVeytown. Four grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Smith is also survived by a brother and a sister, Wilber Booher and Vonnie Orlowski, both of RD1 Mount Union. She was preceded in death by a son who died at birth, Lawrence Smith; an infant son, Cam Smith; and two brothers, Emmitt Booher and Sam Booher. Mrs. Smith was of the Protestant faith. A 1956 graduate of Captain Jack High School, she was a homemaker. She also enjoyed making crafts. The Valley Log, Orbisonia, Pa., October 31, 2001
