His death was due primarily to old age as he was 92years old. He was a retired farmer, having lived some 20 years northwest of Ponca City (Oklahoma). He is survived by his wife, aged 82, with whom he celebrated his 63rd wedding anniversary, January 1. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Mrs. C.W. Saylor, Kansas City, Missouri; W.H. Snyder, Hutchinson Kansas; Dan Snyder, Medicine Lodge, Kansas; Jake Snyder, Model, Colorado; Jasper Snyder, Stanford, Montana; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at C_____ Sanctuary, Saturday afternoon at 2:30o'clock and the body will be shipped to Sabetha Kansas for interment in the family cemetery. clipping DAVID SNYDER David Snyder was born October 12, 1832 in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania and departed this life the morning of January 29th, aged 93 years, 2 months, and 17days. He was united in marriage to Sarah Flott on January 1st., 1863 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. To this union were born 5 sons and 2 daughters, five of whom with his widow live to mourn his loss. There are: W.H. (William Henry)Snyder, Hutchinson; Dan Snyder, Medicine Lodge; J.F. (Jacob Franklin) Snyder, Trinidad, Colorado; Mrs. C.W. (Charles Wesley) Saylor, (daughter Abbie Viola)Kansas City, Mo., Jasper Snyder, Stanford, Montana, also 7 grandchildren, and 5great grandchildren. David Snyder was the true American pioneer, having farmed at Polo, Ill. from1865 until in 1873 when he moved with his family westward to Nebraska, where he lived until 1879 then moved to Brown County, Kansas, where he lived for two years. from Brown County he moved to the Berwick neighborhood, where he lived for eighteen years, moving to a farm near Ponca City, Okla. in 1883. Here he made his home until the summer of 1919 when he retired from the farm and with his wife went to Kansas City to make his home with their daughter, Mrs. C. W. Saylor. He became a member of the United Brethren Church in 1871 and regularly attended that church when he was able to do so. On January 1, he and his wife celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Snyder were in Ponca City, Okla. visiting their granddaughter when he became ill and passed away. Funeral services were held at Ponca City, Saturday and the body brought to Sabetha where the funeral was held in the Congregational Church, conducted by Rev. C.J. Christianson. Burial was made in the Sabetha Cemetery. Mrs. Snyder was unable to come to Sabetha. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Snyder and Will Snyder accompanied the body.
