MRS. JANE G. STEELE

  Mrs. Jane G. Steele, mother of James H. Steele, of 213 East Sixth 
avenue, died at the home of her son-in-law, S. S. Sigler, of 
Painterville, Mifflin county, at 11 o'clock Saturday evening, of 
paralysis.  She was aged 89 years and was born in Chester county, 
November 22, 1827, but had spent the greater part of her life in 
Mifflin county.  Surviving are five sons and two daughters, as follows: 
David S., of Alexandria; James H., of Altoona; John R., of Denver, 
Colo.; William G., of Decatur township, Mifflin county; George H., of 
Barree; Mrs. Annie B. Sigler, of Painterville, and Emma E., of West 
Chester.  The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock tomorrow, with 
interment in Painterville.
