CLARENCE SUNDERLAND Of 523 Crawford Ave., died at 4:10 p.m. Saturday in the Altoona Hospital, where he was admitted at 2:15 p.m. after suffering a heart attack at his home. He was born in Vineyard on Aug. 5, 1893, a son of James A. and Sarah (Chilcote) Sunderland, and on Nov. 22, 1914, was united in marriage with Anna Vossler in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cumberland, Md., by the Rev. N. L. Enders. Surviving are his wife, three children, J. William and Walter E. of the city and Mrs. Louise Heidler of Hollidaysburg RD 1; four grandchildren and a brother, Clark W. of Middletown. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Men's Bible Class and Lutheran Brotherhood and retired July 30, 1960, as chief clerk in the MCB Clearing House, P.R.R. after 49 years of service. Friends will be received in the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. SUNDERLAND - Services for J. Clarence Sunderland of 523 Crawford Ave., will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul E. Jaunzemis. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.
