Jeffersonian Republican. (Stroudsburg, Pa.) 1840-1853: July 24, 1840
In this borough on Tuesday last, Jahn A. Carter, about 30 years of age. The deceased
was a native of Easton, but for several years past, resided in this place. His death
was occasioned by wounds received on the 4th of July last, by the explosion of a
cannon which he was in the act of loading. He has left a bereaved wife and several
small children.
