(Stroudsburg, Pa.) 1840-1853: March 03, 1853 Of cholera, in Marysville, California, on Tuesday the 11th of January, Mr. William H. Dills, aged 25 years; son of Henry and Elizabeth Dills, of Cayuga county, N. Y., formerly on Mon. county, Pa. The deceased immigrated to California in the summer of 1850, and entered into the packing business, in connection with a store at Coxe's Bar, Yuba river, in which owing to his industrious habits, his entire abstinence from all the vices which too frequently beset young men in California, and his well earned reputation for integrity and promptness in business, he was eminently successful. It may be a consolation to his friends, to learn that though his last illness was brief and painful he was surrounded by kind friends, who omitted no exertion to save his valuable life.
