Jeffersonian Republican. (Stroudsburg, Pa.) 1853-1911: November 17, 1859
Matilda Evans died, at Delaware Water Gap, on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 10th.
She was not quite six years old, a sweet little girl, beloved not only by fond
parents but by all that knew her both old and young...Death laid a fast hold upon
his victim, and she fell asleep before the Destroyer had time to emaciate her form
so beautiful in life and so comely in death...
