Jeffersonian Republican. (Stroudsburg, Pa.) 1840-1853: September 14, 1848
In Stroudsburg, on Thursday last, Ellen Gorden, in the 16th year of her age. She
died suddenly of apoplexy at the residence of her father, Abner Gorden. On Wednesday
evening she retired to bed apparently in good health. In the morning she was found
insensible. Medical aid was immediately called, and she lingered until about 11
o'clock when she expired.
